FAQs
Who benefits from these tools now, and in the future? The team of data scientists and researchers developed this toolkit with Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation program officers and grantees. We hope other grantees, potential grantees and also, more donor managers beyond the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation will benefit.
What is an ‘activity based’ tool? In this context an activity based tool is something that people interact with to develop their skills, either on their own, or within a group. The tool might be printable or digital: something you can write on, plaster with post-it notes, or it might be an ‘app’, that you can enter your project details into. They are also called ‘interactive’ tools.
Any examples? The seven Data Sharing Toolkit eLearning sessions on the CABI platform are interactive tools. Other examples include the Data Ethics Canvas and the Data Ecosystem Mapping Tool.
